Sauron Biography
Spawned from the ashes of former black metal bands Melech and the unholy Satyr project, Sauron was resurrected in '96. The line-up was completed in '97 and the first demotape 'Death, Tyranny, War, Blasphemy' was recorded and released in 1999.

Eight months after this release, in 2000, the self-financed four track MCD entitled "True Hate Embodiment" was recorded and released. This MCD resulted in participating on a mini-tour with Carpathian Forest, Destroyer 666 and Urn through the Netherlands (2001), opening on the annual No Mercy festivals in Tilburg in 2002, and several other gigs with acclaimed international acts.

After numerous overwhelming press reactions the band landed a recording agreement with USA based 'Dark Horizon Records'. In 2003, debut Full-length 'Universe Of Filth' came out trough Dark Horizon Records. The release immediately resulted in an exclusive gig with Satyricon and Khold in the Netherlands.

On the 12th of August 2003 'True Hate Embodiment' was re-released by Macabre Operetta productions from the Netherlands on 7” vinyl. This item has new artwork and was limited to 333 units.

In 2004 Sauron signed a new deal with Dutch 'Neurotic Records'. The second full-length 'For a Dead race', and was perceived as 'blackest and sickest' release to that date. The sound of this album is more pure, the vocals are sicker, the songs are better structured and the dedication to black metal has become more audible.

Several live appearances trough Europe followed upon this release. In 2005 Sauron and Neurotic parted ways, the band released several other items, including the follow up album to "For A Dead Race" which is entitled "The Channeling Void". This is now released through Carnal Records from Sweden.
